Unanimous
Best for two people or a small group where every participant needs to be comfortable with the final title.
Veto-safe
Good for mixed tastes. An explicit rejection blocks a title rather than being averaged away.
Majority
Keeps a larger room moving. Set a real quorum so a result cannot be produced by only the fastest voters.
Weighted or wildcard
Use only when everyone understands the rule. The room should show how influence or the wildcard is applied.

Questions people ask before starting a room
- How does a group movie picker decide what everyone watches?
- The host sets the hard limits and picks one consensus rule — unanimous, majority, veto-safe, weighted, or one wildcard each — before anyone votes. Participants then react to the same constraint-checked candidates privately, and the stated rule turns those private reactions into a shortlist. The room is only finished when one title is explicitly selected.
- Does everyone need an account or an app?
- No. The host creates the room in a browser and shares a six-character code. Everyone else joins in their own browser with a display name. There is nothing to install and no sign-up on either side.
- Can other people see what I voted?
- No. Individual votes stay private. The room only ever exposes participant presence, aggregate outcomes, matches, the shortlist, and the final selection, so a rejection never has to be justified to the group.
- How many people can be in one room?
- The setup takes a participant target and a quorum, so you can run two people or a full house. Above roughly eight, tighten the constraints rather than loosening the rule — a large group needs a smaller candidate pool, not a bigger one.
- What happens if nothing matches?
- The room says so instead of quietly relaxing a limit you set. Hard constraints such as runtime, certification, and excluded genres are applied before ranking, so an empty result is a prompt to edit a named constraint in the open.
- Can somebody join after voting has started?
- Yes. A late participant reacts to the candidates still in play rather than replaying the whole list, and the consensus rule stays as it was when the room opened.
